The Ogglies – Welcome to Smelliville!

The Ogglies: In Cinemas July 2021

We are happy to announce that „The Ogglies – Welcome to Smelliville!“ will have it’s theatrical german release on July 22nd 2021.

Great news for “The Ogglies”: Following the positive funding decisions of the Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, the Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg and the German Federal Film Board (FFA), HessenFilm and Medien and Screen Flanders has also approved subsidies for the project. We are very happy about the positive decisions!

Gruesome gunge and cheesy feet – Die Ogglies are it!

The Ogglies are finally conquering our cinema screens! The books about the green, rubbish-eating creatures have so far sold more than 5 million copies in Germany alone. There are 34 early reading and picture books, the paperback series about the Oggly detectives, the Oggly comic magazine, as well as the Oggly app.

In the oggliest adventure of all time, the Oggly family arrive at the municipal rubbish dump of Smelliville. The Ogglies are looking for a new home, but they never feel really welcome anywhere. They stink and are for most humans just a tad too oggly. When Firebottom the family dragon crash-lands on the run-down rubbish tip of the small town of Smelliville, the Oggly kids at once feel at home. And it’s here they want to stay.

Private: The Rottentodds

Twelve-year-old Polly is the odd one out – at least as far as the rest of her family is concerned. But is it her fault that she’s the only Rottentodd who doesn’t like blow-fly salad, thinks spiders and millipedes are yucky, can’t see in the dark, and won’t live for several hundred years?

The bizarre humor and quirky characters in this live-action TV series about a very special kind of family make for unique entertainment for young comedy-horror fans.

Private: The Legacy of the Magic Flute

Our animated series “The Legacy of the Magic Flute” is based on the exceptional musical tale “The Magic Flute”, by W.A. Mozart. It connects the fantasy world and colorful characters from the world-famous opera with contemporary elements and fresh story lines that will especially appeal to younger audiences.

The charming 17-year-old Tamino is attending a priest training school that is run by the high priest and ruler of the sun circle, Sarastro. Tamino is faced with a fantasy world full of challenges. He must overcome these with help from his new friends, the quick-witted Pamina, the smart Papagena and the carefree bird catcher Papageno. Challenges include solving riddles, revealing secrets and passing tests. In some encounters, the powers of the magic flute are of advantage as well. But the fantasy world is overshadowed by the power struggle between light and dark, between High Priest Sarastro, and the Queen of the Night. Tamino needs to grow up quickly to become the hero that helps restore the balance between the sun circle and the realm of darkness.
Trust, bravery, friendship, magic and the power of music are central elements to the exciting, epic and funny stories of “The Legacy of the Magic Flute.”

Let it glow – How Pauline saved Christmas

According to an age-old tradition in the Christmas World, every hundred years a new Santa Claus is chosen, while the old one retires. This time, the job goes to Ruprecht Tumb, a brilliant inventor and tech nerd, who has secretly manipulated the election. Ruprecht wants more than anything else to be Santa Claus, because he’s the most popular person in the world. At the festive welcome ceremony, the new Santa gets to know his faithful companion Beutolomäus. But the expected magic glow doesn’t occur when the two meet. For Beutolomäus, it’s clear that Ruprecht can’t be the real Santa Claus. Beutolomäus sets out in search of the actual Santa in order to save Christmas.

“Let it glow – How Pauline saved Christmas” is a completely new, horizontally structured Advent calendar TV series for the whole family. 24 episodes (15 minutes each) full of excitement, magic and imagination. The series is directed by Alex Schmidt, starring Simon Böer (Sascha Claus), Cloé Heinrich (Paule Merten), Santino Bathe (Max), Björn Harras (Ruprecht), Inez Bjørk David (Lena Merten), Mirko Lang (Martin Merten), Hark Bohm (Knorre) and Milton Welsh (carol-songwriter) as well as Anna Fischer, Ramona Krönke und Annette Strasser (elves). Beutolomäus (spoken by Constantin von Jascheroff) is – for the first time ever – a CGI animated character.

The Ogglies

Gruesome gunge and cheesy feet – The Ogglies are the latest thing!

Yet there are still some people who have never heard of the Ogglies. Not many, but still: for all those still in the dark we’d like to present this charming, cheeky and chaotic family:

The Ogglies are as green as gherkins, with noses the size of aubergines and three hearing horns on their heads as big as bananas. The Ogglies don’t like chocolate. Or ice-cream, or sweets, or jelly, or spaghetti with tomato ketchup, or Nutella sandwiches. In fact, they don’t like anything that children like, but prefer to dine on things that are off, bitter, musty or mouldy.

The Oggly family have made their home on the municipal rubbish dump in Smelliville: two kids, Mum, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma and the baby, along with Flutchi the bat and Firebottom the dragon, who also serves as the family’s means of transport.

Henrietta

Nomination for GOLDEN SPARROW competition

Henrietta has been nominated for the GOLDEN SPARROW in the category “TV series animation” with the episode “Henrietta is sick”. The German Children’s Media Festival will take place from September 20 to 26, 2020. With 206 German-language productions, there was a record entry in 2020 for the GOLDEN SPARROW competition. The prizes will be awarded on September 25, 2020 at the CineStar in Erfurt.
We are very happy about the nomination!

Henrietta is a cow. A mail cow, to be exact. But Henrietta is not only a mail cow. She’s also a cow who goes on a treasure hunt, plays hide-and-seek, pops out from hiding places and scares the daylights out of the mailman – in short a cow like no other. And she is most certainly not a “dumb cow”, even though she often has as rather roundabout way of doing things. Henrietta is horribly clumsy. Of course! A cow without hands, with only four hooves, who climbs trees, jumps on a trampoline… how could it not go wrong? Added to that is Henrietta’s childish naivety. Although she thinks a lot – yes, she thinks; we’ll get into more detail later – she doesn’t think about the possible consequences of her actions. As soon as Henrietta has an idea, she dives into a new adventure without thinking about the risks and often ends up in a bind. She’s sitting in a tree and can’t get back down, is stuck in a hole she dug herself… Henrietta behaves like a little child – like our target group – which offers enormous potential for the audience to identify with.

A race against time, a matter of life and death…

Groove High

3 complete broadcasts on Nickelodeon already.

“Groove High” is all about the two young rockstars Zoe and Tom. They live their dream together and have the chance to travel from town to town on their world tour. However, before Zoe and Tom could celebrate their musical success, they went to “Groove High”, a school for music and performing arts, together. While Zoe and Tom are waiting backstage until it’s show time, they reminisce about the good old times.

Besides music, friendship and first love are at the very top of the list in Groove High. But also brawl and drama play a role, because when they remember their school time and the beginning of their career, they do not always totally agree how the things really took their course.

“Groove High” cleverly combines the genres live-action and animation. Each episode initially starts with a short live-action element. In the version produced for Nickelodeon Germany, Luisa Wietzorek plays the Zoe and Robert Köhler the Tom. The reviews into their time at “Groove High” are animated.

In the live-action scenes of the Dutch and the Swedish version, also produced for Nickelodeon by WunderWerk, Alex Hendrickx and Emilie Pos respectively Tom Ljungmann and Happy Jankell play the leading parts.
